Bring The Outdoors In

Adam Frank's Lumen Tree Candles cast a soft shadow on the wall when lit. As the flame flickers the shadow moves about organically. Lumen comes with two 17-hour fuel cells. These liquid wax cells are odorless and clean burning.

Put A Cork In It

The more wine you drink, the more romantic your evening will get with these wine cork candles.

Available at The Spoon Sisters (I love the name).

Every bottle you finish, plug one in and you'll set the mood for the evening.

A Word is Worth A Thousand Pictures

Have your favorite quote created into graffiti for your home.

Graffiti letters are very, very thin pieces of vinyl. A light adhesive holds them firmly on the wall until you're ready to remove them. Think Colorforms and Post-It notes.Vinyl makes Graffiti flexible, durable, and washable. Its extreme thinness and hand-applied matte finish make Wonderful Graffiti look like it's been literally printed on the wall. (And not like vinyl at all.)

Genealogy Family Tree

This would be a perfect gift for a new bride to give to her husband or for a new mom to give to hers, with a cute little new leaf added on for their new babe.

My friends may recognize the green tree, I used it as the design for my wedding thank-you's.

Fresh Faces

Look younger without batting an eye - just patting it! Benefit Makeup is my all time favorite brand. All of their products give you a natural, & fresh look. My face cream and my Benefit Lemon Aid are my two staples. The Lemon Aid instantly freshes up your face.

There is a Benefit station at the Bay Downtown Vancouver, but the selection is slim. They do give free make overs so it is always fun to get one before a night out on the town.

Otherwise, shop at:
Sephora.com or Benefitcosmetics.com to load up!
Trust me, you'll get hooked!

Picture Perfect

Have you dreamed of having the perfect picture wall above your staircase, fireplace etc.? Or does just the idea of finding the frames to match and organizing one stress you out? Now you can get one in a box delivered to your home and up within minutes (more like half an hour). All you're in charge of is picking the photos to insert in - which can be a little difficult itself.

Why is it so easy? It comes with a nifty template that tells you where to put the frames and allows you to hammer the nail into the right spot. Once the nails are all in, rip the template off, throw up your frames and voila! You've got a sweet photo wall.

The deliveries come within two weeks and they have a very simple exchange process.

Give Peace A Chance....Finally

The creater of myspace launched www.weblo.com today. A virtual version of the real world, buildings, landmarks, streets, and more are owned, bought and sold. Weblo Properties can be resold for higher prices and can also be put on auction to expand your earning potential. Users that buy whole cities or states become the mayor of the city or governor of the state. Mayors and governors administer their city/state and earn revenue on whatever is sold in the city. Furthermore, mayors and governors make decisions about the taxation that their citizens receive. The opportunities for wealth are endless!

Now this is what I am talking about:
Weblo Celebrities allow for the registration of any musician, actor, sports hero, friend or even yourself. You manage the celebrity or personality of your chosen hero inside of Weblo.

Hilary Clinton is only $2 bucks, now that is sad.

As for properties:
Tijuana is selling for $100,000 , if I owned Tijuana I would be selling it right away too.

Halloween

Halloween is around the corner and I thought I would assist some of the crazies that like to dress up (unlike myself) with some costume ideas that I found. These should be sure to get some chuckles if only from a few odd balls like myself that loved the 80's:

California Raisin
The purple Raisin's who danced to the tune "Heard it Through The Grapevine." Wore White Sunglasses, Yellow ties and some had skateboards. Also had other props like radio's (the old portable ones) and microphones.
(The skateboards really would be fun)

Carebear
Am I the only one who remembers the Care Bears and their "Care Stare" attack for defeating villains? This costume wouldn't be so hard. A simple place to start would be to rent a bear suit of sorts (or create your own lame ass one), then create a paper circle (even a paper plate would do, attach it to the stomach and draw something like a raincloud for grumpy or a crescent moon for sleepy bear on it. And voila! Care Bear!
(oh crap, you could get funny with this one)

Inspector Gadget and Penny
Inspector Gadget - gray trenchcoat, hat, and some kind of goofy device. Penny - red and white striped shirt, green pants, red or pink shoes. Don't forget the big watch and wear your hair in pigtails.

Milli Vanilli
Wear a black turtleneck, black pants, paint your skin with brown/black face paint, and wear a braids or dregs wig.

Mork & Mindy
Mindy has pigtails, big shirt and jeans. Mork has tight shirt (no collar), jeans & suspenders.
(I possibly would dress up just to be mork & mindy for one night)

Tom Cruise (yes, he was actually on an 80's site, he's made it through all the decades)
Red and white stripe (thin) button down with the collar up, tidey-whities, tube socks (pulled up) and black wayfairer sunglasses.
(I am sure that there will be loads of these out there this year with Suri in tow)

I love these site designs. On my list of new hobbies to learn, I am moving web design to the top. One day I am going to learn to create some sweet design sites like these.
